What the report found

A 19.4% lost on every booking.

At the July close, the report compared what Airbnb retained on the owner’s two units. On one, the service fee was 3.6%; on the other, 19.4% of the gross amount.

Owner’s other unit3.6%
This attic19.4%
Airbnb service fee in July, on the gross amount. Scale from 0 to 20%.

The cause was the listing setup: a host-only fee instead of a fee split with the guest. The report flagged it and proposed the change, with an estimated impact of around 15% more revenue per booking on that unit.

That is the monthly reading: not just what happened, but what changes before the next close.

One unit and a few months: not a promise of returns, but how we work. Data anonymised with the owner’s permission.
